Macerich Barricade Graphics Requirements
Tenants opening at a Macerich center get their barricade rules in the property's tenant package. There is no single national standard. This guide summarizes Macerich's published barricade graphics guidelines, so you know what to expect before the handbook lands on your desk. Barricade graphics (known as hoarding graphics in Canada) cover mall construction barricades with branded barricade wraps.

Some Macerich centers have a barricade recycle program in place. Where they do, Macerich's published guidelines say the landlord installs the barricade at the tenant's expense.
At those centers, the tenant is also required to use the landlord's vendor for barricade graphics.
If an outside vendor supplies the graphics
The same guidelines say graphics from a vendor other than the landlord-approved vendor must meet extra requirements.
These include a supplied-graphics materials release form and the barricade supplier's application instructions.
What the graphics must cover
- A full barricade wrap of the retailer's graphics, covering 100% of the barricade surface.
- Graphics are approved per project and should be consistent across the whole barricade.
- Graphics installed by the tenant must be completed within 3 days of construction start.
What this means for you
First, ask your tenant coordinator whether your center runs the landlord barricade program.
If it does, plan on the landlord's vendor for the graphics. A vendor like us can still help by preparing print-ready artwork to the landlord's specs.
If the center allows outside graphics, ask for the release form early so it doesn't hold up your opening.
