How long does a mall barricade wrap take?

For this Houston Galleria project, 3 working days on our end, from approved proof to printed graphics plus install. The overall date was set by the mall: the barricade was newly built, needed its paint to cure, and the install had to be booked for after hours.

Can graphics be installed on a freshly painted barricade?

Only once the paint has cured. Film applied over fresh paint can lift, so we schedule the install after the wall has had time to off-gas.

Sugar Fluffs at Houston Galleria: full-coverage mall barricade graphics

Sugar Fluffs, a cotton candy, sweets and collectibles shop, needed its coming-soon barricade at Houston Galleria wrapped before opening, in the former LIDS unit beside Claire's, in the Galleria area of Uptown Houston, just off Westheimer Road.

330 sq ft of full-coverage graphics across a new drywall barricade, wrapping both returns and the access door
Measured from the client's own survey and photos, with no site visit needed
The client supplied the artwork; our pre-press team turned it into print-ready panels for the front and both returns
Printed on our cost-effective matte film, made for single-use drywall barricades that come down at opening; applied flat, no laminate

What made it work

Built-in margin for real-world measurements: the survey was rounded to the nearest foot, so we added extra bleed to every panel. We'd always rather spend a little more material than leave a gap on install day.
New wall, cured first: the barricade was built, mudded and painted by the mall's contractor, finishing October 12. We had the client let the paint cure before install, because film applied over fresh paint can lift.
After-hours install: we arranged after-hours mall access so the install didn't disrupt shoppers.

What's on the wall

Candy, plush and dessert graphics carry the brand logo, website and social handle, so the shop builds followers before the doors open. "Coming soon" messaging and the unit number on the door tell shoppers exactly where and what is coming. The wrapped returns make the storefront read as one image from both directions of the corridor.
